Yes, we have a few last words to add to this issue. It seems fitting that many of the featured works we included this month were from writers and musicians we first bumped into -- or they bumped into us - via "social media". All of the musicians featured in "Dialogue" - Sweet Tooth, The Mints of Idaho & Charlotte Elilzabeth - we met through Twitter, as well as screenwriter and "scriptchat" facilitor Jeanne V. Bowerman.
Twitter at best is an active exchange, and though it may evolve, fade or disappear completely at some point, the power of connections and exchanges that can be made in the age of instant communication persists with a life of it's own. Yet other sites that's media buzz has long-faded have also led us to interesting connections in the not so distant past -- poet Maria Palacios' work we first encountered through Myspace, as well as others.
Status Hat also actively posts calls for work throughout the digital universe, and receives works submitted by artists and writers in response -- another lively exchange happening, expedited by connectivity across the globe, and the power of the tools we have available to share ideas and work in this age.
Truly last -- our bias: go use these tools... make a statement by fanning, following, connecting with, and supporting our featured artists and musicians! Buy their music! Support their art! Go see their work if they happen to be in your locale! Make time for art in everyday life....
