WORKS BY JOHN PETERSON
John Peterson's graphics suggest a dialogue in motion, even when none is provided. Each frozen moment could perhaps have been plucked straight from an intense conversation. He shared the following with us about his process:
"I'm heavily influenced by comic books and animation. My preferred technique was to work in pen and ink. I would then use Dr. Ph. Martin's dyes (sort of a transparent watercolor) to fill in color, adding some details in colored pencil. Now, I scan a pencil sketch or more detailed drawing (I still occasionally use pen and ink) and work in Photoshop. This allows me to attempt as many color choices and textures as I can imagine, rather than previously being stuck with my first choice. The end results are actually quite similar."
