Hey all, another installment of Staus Hat's music page brings two more excellent groups to our readers.

First up we have Citizen Escape's hidriving song hitting us with “Going Nowhere.” What I really like about this tune is each element of the group, guitar, bass, drums, and vocals is strong and succinct, creating a powerful and well rounded sound. Also each member brings a talent and drive to the song that reinforces the message of love and commitment. A nice double time solo breaks up the song with an attitude that any rocker, metalhead or punker can appreciate.

Also this month we are very happy to bring you "Xeritown" by Collective Acoustics.  These guys have a ton of talent amongst them and seamlessly bring together textures, rhythyms, and sounds that have a hypnotic and simplistic harmony. The Hazelrigg brothers, along with Eric Hastings, create a very organic sound by staying away from studio tricks; they play all the parts and damn well too. Nicely layered and produced with a steady and interesting beat, Xeritown is an accomplishment of subtle songwriting.

Thanks for listening! If you know a musician we should showcase in a future issue, or are one, send us a link where we can hear their music or yours online!

"Going Nowhere"

ABOUT CITIZEN ESCAPE:

Citizen Escape got their start in 2008 by providing bar crowds in Bellingham, Wash with a welcome break from the college-town's drab indie scene. Since then, the hard-rocking quartet has become a regular on the late-night club and all-ages circuit of Western Washington, sharing the stage with accomplished local acts such as No-Fi Soul Rebellion, Rishloo, The Boss Martians and Tsavo.

ABOUT COLLECTIVE ACOUSTICS:

Collective Acoustics is a group of 3 genre-bending musicians who believe in putting the human touch back into modern music. Whether on stage, in the studio, or composing for Film & TV, the group aims to bring a fresh, organic approach to their sound. All material is played on real instruments by real people and recorded with vintage and custom-built microphones, preamps, compressors and EQs. No Samples. No Loops. No MIDI.
