Student dubbed ‘real-life Popeye the Sailor Man’ after sharing hidden muscles
A student has been dubbed as the real-life version of Popeye the Sailor Man, after he unveiled his hidden muscles on TikTok.
Malek Sameh, from Egypt, left his followers completely baffled after his seemingly slim arms more than doubled in size when he tensed his muscles.
In a clip shared to his TikTok page, the 18-year-old could be seen holding out his left arm while wearing a loose fitting t-shirt, while his arm appeared toned but not particularly muscular.
However, seconds later Malek stunned his followers by dramatically pulling up his sleeve and tensing his arm, revealing his cartoon-like muscles. Seriously, how much spinach do you eat, Malek?
“I just had an idea about wearing an oversized shirt since I look very skinny in them,” Malek explained. “I then just pulled up the sleeve and flexed my biceps – and boom, it went crazy viral.”
He posted the clip, which has been liked nearly 1 million times, alongside the caption: “Don’t be fooled guys,” and he was quickly inundated with comments, comparing him to Popeye the Sailor, who is obviously known for having skinny arms, until he eats a tin full of spinach and says, “I’m strong to the finish ’cause I eat me spinach!”
“Where were you hiding those guns?” one TikTok user commented, while another added: “I really really really didn’t expect that like really didn’t expect that at all.”
“What in the Popeyes and spinach is going on,” a third questioned, while a fourth commented: “What is this sorcery?!?!”
As well as the Popeye references, other TikTok users rushed to compare him to Spongebob Squarepants in the episode where he wears inflatable muscle sleeves.
